biketrip.org is a website dedicated to bicycle travel. The site was created in 1998 on a bicycle somewhere between Stockholm and Paris. It has evolved a lot over time, reached its peak in 2005 with contributions from many bikers. It was taken down in 2007 and was turned into a wiki on Feb 12th 2009. Previous material will slowly be added back once technology will allow me to recover the data lost on my hard drive.

biketrip is a non for profit website, it's actually an annual loss of $155 for me but that's ok. The ads by Google and the Amazon sales are not paying off so far but I'm not losing hope. We're not asking for financial help but more for written contributions from cyclists!

biketrip.org is a wiki, but it's not wikipedia ! We mean that wikipedia's article will describe things and will stay very very neutral about everything. We're not trying to redo about bicycle what wikipedia has already done, on biketrip.org, please give your opinion on things, the advantages of a solution over another one. We're here to give advices about bicycle touring ! Of course by being partial, people will disagree, that's what discussion pages and the forum are for !
